It's an opportunity for relationships and skills to be developed, and to try activities which encourage us to push our limits just that little bit further. Children AND staff! For some children this is their first experience of being away from home and so we try to share enough information to create familiarity while still retaining an element of excitement.
What did our parents and children think?
A million thank you’s for giving the children this opportunity to have such a wonderful time at Caythorpe. The updates every day were very welcome and rather comforting.
Residentials bring with them great fun, tiredness and huge responsibility so I just want to say thank you once again for not only being their teachers while they were away but also for giving that extra comfort that our child needed last night🥰 it’s very much appreciated💐🤗💐
The boys have told us all the stories and they have had a totally fabulous time. Thank you ☺️
My son has been bouncing with exciting stories! Such a fantastic opportunity for them! Thankyou.
Our son has been raving about the trip, so a massive thank you.
My son had an awesome time and really enjoyed the experience. The photos and videos were awesome.
Our child really enjoyed the trip, he is looking forward to the next one. And thank you for the photos and videos, they are amazing and helped us to cope with him being away, without us, for the first time.
Teamwork enabled us to climb higher, even when we thought we couldn't reach the next rung.
We all had a job to do, even if we weren't on the ladder. Keeping our peers safe was a very important job.
We also showed teamwork by helping others. Sometimes it's a little bit hard when you are shorter to move the 'koala' around the course.
We had to put our trust in each other and the instructor, and it was an opportunity to appreciate what life is like without one of our senses.
16,000 steps in one day and that was the staff...so imagine how far our little legs went!
It was good to have friends sat with us so we could encourage each other to go that little bit higher the second time.
At the end of the day we had definitely earned the campfire and toasted marshmallows. Yummy!!
The second morning we had to be woken up by the staff as we were so tired from all the fun, exercise and fresh air.
